Today's PSN update brings PSP owners a couple of new games to download, as well as some more map packs for Go!Explore. There's also a trailer for a game that no-one cares about. Everything seems a little expensive for our tastes, but thanks to the weak pound, Europeans are probably getting a good deal. Here's the full release list:
Okay, Europe. It looks like SCEE is trying to make things up to you for being a day late with your PSN update. Sure, America got its hands on Suikoden yesterday, but you've got five full games to choose from. Dead Head Fred is the best of the bunch, though it's sadly the most expensive, too. Fighting game fans will be in heaven with Street Fighter Alpha Warrior's Dreams as well as Guilty Gear Judgement to choose from. Here's the full release list:
Street Fighter Alpha Warriors' Dreams PS1 game (£4.79/€5.99)
Just one new item on the US PSN Store today, but it's a good'n. If you're an RPG fan and a retrophile then you'll no doubt be thrilled with the release of Suikoden onto the PSN Store. This great (if schizophrenic) JRPG will set you back $5.99. It's a pretty rare find nowadays, so it's good to see that it's being made available via digital distribution. This is how it should be; PS1 classics preserved in time via the PlayStation Network. Real classics. Not Reel Fishing.
We suspect Sony might be making up for something with today's update. Instead of just coming out and saying "we're sorry, we love you!" Sony has spoken to us through games. Three of them, to be precise, and all of them worth grabbing. There's also the add-on pack for Super Stardust Portable, along with a couple of videos and a theme. Here's the full release list:
Bumper PSN Store update for Europeans today. Three full games and an expansion pack for Super Stardust Portable are the highlights, but you'll also find a new Loco Roco 2 wallpaper along with the latest episode of Shoot! Here's the full release list:
Nothing too exciting for Americans, this week. Today's update consists of four videos, and that's it. No playable content, no themes or wallpapers, just some videos. Hilariously, three of the four trailers are for content only accessible via a PS3, so those of you who own only a PSP have very little to download this week. Here's the list:
The PSN Store is actually down right now, thanks to Sony doing much behind the scenes fiddling in order to get the Home open beta up. When the store does come back up, you can expect the following offerings. All four items are full games and, as a result, they all cost cash money. These can also be bought via the PS3 PSN Store, once it's back up and running. Here's the full release list.
Alright complainers, how do you feel about this one? After over a month of weak PSN support (in terms of PSP content) SCEA has come through this week. Four full games are available to purchase, including two PSP versions of classic PS3 dual-stick shooters. Both are definitely worth a purchase. Mercury is a pretty fun physics-based puzzler, so if you've got the dosh, go for all three. Now all we need is Loco Roco 2 and we're set. Here's the full release list:
Some more PS1 games make their way onto the European PSN store today along with the latest episode of Shoot!. That makes five PS1 games in the last month. Hopefully SCEE can keep up this pace and continue to push decent, old school content onto our PSPs. Here's today's update in handy list form:
What a treat! Not only did Europeans receive Super Stardust Portable on Tuesday but now, only two days later, four new games have been released onto the PlayStation Store. The highlight of which is Loco Roco 2, which you should be downloading right now. Alternatively, you can buy a retail box from Play.com for £5 extra (we'd rather pay the extra money and not have to deal with fiddly UMDs). Here's the full release list:
Look, new content on the American PSN Store! That almost never happens. Unfortunately, those of you hoping to see Super Stardust Portable are out of luck. Instead, you're able to download Pro Bull Riders: Out of the Chute. Yeah, we've never heard of it either, but at least there's an Everyday Shooter PSP trailer. That's something, right? Right? Here's the release list:
Pro Bull Riders: Out of the Chute full game ($14.99)
The American PSN Store update will be taking place today instead of Thursday, thanks to Thanksgiving. Though, that doesn't explain why SCEE (who celebrate no such holiday) have decided to go ahead and update the PSP Store with one of our most anticipated downloadable titles yet. Super Stardust Portable, little brother to the PS3's HD offering, is now available to purchase for only £6.29.
At that price, you can't really say no. There's also a trailer for the PSP version of Everyday Shooter. Perhaps Super Stardust Portable's release on a Tuesday is an indication that it will also be heading to the American store today too. Fingers crossed.
Today's European Store update brings two playable offerings whose styles are about as different as they can get. One, a classic God-Sim from yesterday and the other, a colorful Japanese platformer with singing blobs. From tomorrowmonth. That's a word, right? It is now. Here's the release list for this week:
What's this? Content on the US PSP Store? That almost never happens! Sure, it may only be one demo, but it's better than nothing, right? A Neverland Card Battles demo is now available on the store, ready and waiting for you to download. Don't be put off by Europe's almost decent update today, take advantage of this free content and show SCEA that people want downloadable PSP content. As for Neverland Card Battles, check out our review to see if it's worth the purchase.
Need some more PSP content? It's Thursday, which means another store update. This week we've got two full games, a bunch of videos and a couple of themes. That's actually not a bad update. Take a look at Shoot, it seems like an interesting premise. Here's the full release:
